Friends, Fellow Texans and Citizens:

I have supported Texas YMCA Youth and Government for nearly thirty years beginning with my participation as a senior in high school.  The organization focuses on training young Texans in our democratic tradition and our three branches of government.  Like our democracy, the program’s success depends on the willingness of many citizens like yourself volunteering your time or giving generously of your resources.  We have two volunteer opportunities coming up that I hope you will seriously consider.  Our judicial section (mock trial) needs evaluators at both the district and state conferences.  As an evaluator, you will use a rubric to help score students who have learned roles as attorneys, witnesses, bailiffs and judges. There are morning, afternoon or full day volunteer spots during the following two conferences:

Austin District Conference November 10, 2018 at Hays High School

Texas State Conference January 25 and 26, 2018 (Austin, Texas)

I know you will enjoy your time spent with these young Texans who are preparing themselves to help lead our communities, state, and nation.  Please feel free to reach out to more for additional information or you can learn more by clicking the link below.  Thanks and God Bless the USA and Texas!  -Chris
